Almond Oil for Face

How to Use Almond Oil for Treating Wrinkles

Most essential oils offer various benefits for human health and beauty including almond oil. If applied topically to the facial skin, the oil is able to postpone the appearance of signs of aging such as wrinkles. A comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to use almond oil for treating wrinkles is briefly outlined in the following passages.

1. Preparations

To get the most effective results, you will need to mix almond oil with other ingredients. The best mixture should be composed of 2 tablespoons of almond oil, 1 tablespoon of lanolin, 2 tablespoons of water, 2 tablespoons of cod liver oil, and 1 tablespoon of chamomile tea. You can mix them in a saucepan by applying low heat to it. You will also need a spoon and small plastic bottle.

2. Creating the Mixture

Pour the almond oil and lanolin into the saucepan. Please apply only low heat to the saucepan and constantly stir the mixture to prevent it from becoming too hot. Once the mixture starts to hiss and create bubbles, turn down the heat immediately. At this condition, lanolin and almond oil is mixed perfectly, but you need to cool down the temperature before pouring other ingredients.

3. Cooling Down

To quicken the cooling down process, add water to the mixture. Once the mixture is cool enough for you to touch, you can start pouring other ingredients.

3. Light Brown Mixture

After some moments, pour the chamomile tea and cod liver oil into the mixture. You may need to stir the mixture several times until they are thoroughly blended. A good mixture has light brown color and it is also creamy. The mixture is now ready to use, and you can store it in a small plastic bottle.

4. Patch Test

To avoid allergic reactions, please conduct a patch test by applying a drop of the mixture to your elbow. Leave the mixture for ten minutes to see if unusual symptoms appear such as redness, inflammation, or itching. If you cannot see such symptoms, the mixture is safe for you to use.

4. Applying It

Before applying the mixture to your face, please make sure you have removed your make up. The mixture should be applied once a day, so you can use it in the evening or before bed. For a single treatment, you will only need few drops of the mixture. Apply the mixture directly to your face, creating a thin layer. In most cases, it only takes half a tablespoon of the mixture to cover your face. Massage the mixture gently to make sure that it goes evenly covering the entire face area.

5. Rinse Your Face

After some minutes, rinse your face with warm water. Please use only your hand to splash the water to your face. Scrubbing off the mixture by using a washcloth will only prevent it from doing its moisturizing function.
